Cacky PeltzFor the past two and a half years I have served on the Woodbury School Board. I am a retired elementary school art teacher and have been a resident of Woodbury for over forty years serving the school as a teacher, a volunteer and parent of two children. I decided to seek a position on the board because I believe Woodbury is a unique small school that will need strong leadership in the coming years. Our public education system is designed to serve the needs of all children and I keep this tenet central to my role on the board, as well as working at all times to provide opportunities for parents and community members to learn more about the educational programs, student performance, fiscal challenges and long term planning needed to keep the standards of education high and the climate positive and collaborative at Woodbury Elementary School.

Kim SilkThe reason why I jointed the school board was I wanted to make sure the students received a good education at an affordable price. At the time, I felt that the board members did not adequately consider the average citizen of Woodbury. My focus is to make sure the OSSU and our teachers are providing a proper education to the students of Woodbury. I try to keep the board focused on the task of educating our students. The children of Woodbury are our future, as well as everyone else’s.
