Contact The School Board

A fundamental aspect of our job as school board directors is to develop connections with the community, so it is important that people know how to communicate with us.

Attend a School Board Meeting and Give Public Comment

Regular school board meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at Woodbury Elementary School Library beginning at 6 pm. Copies of the agenda are available online as well as at a variety of public locations in our community generally five business days before a regular school board meeting. See Speaking at a Board Meeting for tips.

Communicate in Writing

To express an opinion electronically, individuals can send messages to the School Board as a whole to wdbboard@ossu.org or by using our online contact form. Generally, the board will discuss any correspondence received by the public at the next regular meeting, including a response, if requested or applicable.

Individuals also can share their opinions by sending a letter to the School Board via OSSU Central Office, 156 Daniels Road, Hardwick, VT 05843 or faxing it to 802-472-5483.

Generally, school board members will have more time to consider citizens' positions and review any information presented if the email or letter is received at least five days before the topic is on the School Board meeting agenda.

Typically, individual emails and letters sent to school board members are automatically copied to all members of the School Board and the Superintendent.

Meet By Appointment

School Board members may also be available to speak with or meet with small groups or individuals to discuss issues or positions by appointment. While you are welcome to meet with any of the school board members, each of us specializes in certain areas (committees, etc).

Please keep in mind that under the law, a maximum of 2 school board members can meet with a group of citizens without it being considered a public meeting, which requires prior advertisement.

To inquire about scheduling an appointment, please send an email message to the School Board as a whole to wdbboard@ossu.org or use our online contact form.

Submit a Complaint

Before contacting the school board about a complaint, please make sure you have read our established process for communicating complaints, beginning with bringing the complaint to the individual concerned.

Suggest or Attend an Event

Regular school board meetings are not the only way to engage with your community about school-related issues. We'd love to hear ideas for other types of events that people are interested in attending or topics that our community wants to learn more about.

Our School Board calendar has all Woodbury school and school board events listed. If you'd like to add an event, please let us know!

Send Us Your Comments

Comments submitted will be received by all members of the school board and the superintendent and discussed at the next regular school board meeting.
